Life is a BALLOON Adventure!!

Life gets busy, doesn't it? Between studying, working, family commitments, caring for ageing parents and everything else that life throws our way, the days, weeks and months seem to disappear before we know it.

But sometimes, amongst all that busyness, we need to make time for something a little magical.

And that's exactly what we did!

After four attempts, we finally got to experience our hot air balloon adventure. We'd originally booked it about two years ago, and after several cancellations due to the weather, I was beginning to wonder whether we'd ever get there.

As we travelled towards the Barossa Valley, we were already preparing ourselves for another disappointment. The night before, I rang the operator, who said, "Yes, we'll give it a try."

My first thought was, "Yes! Finally!" Followed very quickly by, "Oh no, now I'm scared!"

But there we were, getting up at 3:30 in the morning, ready for our adventure.

We didn't end up flying over the Barossa Valley. Instead, we floated above the magnificent River Murray near Blanchetown. And what a beautiful experience it was.

The sunrise, the peacefulness, the incredible scenery and even the little pelicans captured in our photograph. It was simply magical.

And the funny thing? I wasn't particularly nervous after all. The flight was so gentle and smooth. There was something incredibly calming about floating above the world, watching the sun come up while everything below us was just beginning to wake.

For that little while, there were no commitments, no problems to solve, no deadlines and no worries about what needed doing next. Just the moment, the view and the experience.

And I think that's something we sometimes forget.

We spend so much of our lives doing what we have to do that we can forget to make time for what we want to do.

So, the moral of this little reflection?

Life will always be busy. There will always be something that needs your attention. But don't forget to make time for a little adventure along the way.

And if you ever get the opportunity, take that balloon ride.

I'm certainly glad we did! 🎈
